About PrepPilot
PrepPilot is a free, bilingual (Hindi and English) study companion for Indian competitive exams, built by a student preparing for GATE.
Why it exists
Most prep apps sell test series and courses. What students actually own is a pile of notes, PDFs and old papers. PrepPilot turns that pile into a searchable library and an AI tutor that answers only from your material, shows the exact page it used, and says so when the answer is not in your notes.
How it works
Each page you upload is checked and sent to the right extractor — plain text, formula-heavy pages, scans and handwriting, Hindi or English. Formulas are checked by rendering them, and any page that looks wrong is flagged for you to review. Questions are answered with hybrid search over your notes, and every answer cites file and page.
Content rules
The public site uses only official notifications, syllabi and previous papers, plus practice questions generated by AI. We do not host coaching material or textbooks. Every exam guide links to its official sources and shows when it was last checked.
Credits
Document parsing uses MinerU (OpenDataLab), PyMuPDF and Tesseract. Search uses the multilingual-e5-small embedding model. Formulas are rendered with KaTeX, spaced repetition uses the FSRS algorithm, and the concept map uses React Flow. Current affairs questions are based on Press Information Bureau (PIB) releases, credited on each question.
